Dr Andrew Walden is a Consultant in Acute and Intensive Care Medicine and has been interested in the role of POCUS since 2008. He helped develop Focused Ultrasound in Intensive Care (FUSIC) competencies and chaired the Focused Acute Medicine Ultrasound (FAMUS) committee from 2016 to 2018. He has published widely on the use of lung ultrasound in a range of settings including resource poor countries. He believes strongly that POCUS greatly improves the care and flow of patients and is a champion of a multidisciplinary approach.
Lorenzo Cristoni is a Consultant in Acute Medicine at Frimley Park Hospital.
He is an enthusiast FICE, CUSIC and FAMUS mentor with 20 years’ experience in point of care ultrasound and a particular commitment in promoting POCUS as the 5th pillar of the clinical examination in all the courses where he teaches.
He is an expert in abdominal US, with a particular interest in ultrasound of the intestine, and in the integrated heart-lung-IVC sonographic approach to the acutely unwell patient.
Dr Joe Nunan is a specialty doctor at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. He has helped develop POCUS within acute medicine since becoming the Ultrasound Fellow in 2020. Passionate about teaching, Joe has worked for Dr Walden in promoting POCUS since then.

Ingrid da Silva is a Senior Sonographer at the Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, an Associate Professor at the University of West London and a Thames Valley Imaging Academy Educator. She is very passionate about ultrasound and its contemporary advances more specifically the development of new techniques and applications. Ingrid is part of the AIM POCUS Academy faculty team helping to deliver FAMUS courses in Abdomen and DVT ultrasound.
Dr Rachel Vivian is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, where she is College Tutor and a POCUS mentor. She has completed an Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and a Postgraduate Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care Ultrasound at King’s College London. An instructor and supervisor for FUSIC, FAMUS and Core EM Ultrasound, she is also experienced in hepato-biliary sonography.
